Chocolate–Peanut Butter Smoothie

MAKES 2 SERVINGS / PREP: 5 MINUTES / TOTAL: 5 MINUTES

Craving a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup or perhaps a chocolate–peanut butter ice cream sundae? Look no further for a low-calorie, low-carb option that will satisfy your urge for peanut butter goodness. This protein smoothie includes the flavors of rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter all mixed into one drink. Craving satisfied!

1 cup low-fat milk

½ cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt

1 scoop (¼ cup) vanilla protein powder

2 tablespoons powdered peanut butter

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 In a blender, blend on high speed to combine the milk, yogurt, protein powder, powdered peanut butter, and cocoa powder for 3 to 4 minutes, until the powders are well dissolved and no longer visible.

2 Pour half the smoothie into a glass and enjoy.

3 Refrigerate any smoothie you don’t drink or use right away, and reblend prior to serving. Discard any remaining smoothie after 7 days.

Serving tip: While this smoothie is excellent for a full liquid diet in the initial days and weeks post-op, it also makes a great supplemental protein source for the long term. Drink it after dinner to accomplish your protein goals, or simply as a delicious substitute for dessert.
