Fresh Start Bariatric Cookbook: Healthy Recipes to Enjoy Favorite Foods After Weight-Loss Surgery

Greek Ranch Dip

MAKES 2 CUPS

PREP: 10 MINUTES, PLUS AT LEAST 30 MINUTES TO CHILL / TOTAL: 40 MINUTES

This creamy ranch dip will jazz up your favorite raw vegetables or salad. Grilled or baked chicken breasts make great dippers, too—the dip adds wonderful flavor and keeps the chicken moist. Try mixing the dip with a can of tuna for a twist on your traditional tuna salad. No matter how closely you watch protein intake while keeping fat and sugar consumption low, you can’t escape the fact that veggies and healthy meats are important to your post-op diet. This easy dip is a delicious and semi-indulgent way of making sure we eat nature’s healthiest foods, which may not be the most flavorful on their own.

2 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning (here)

16 ounces low-fat plain Greek yogurt

In a small bowl, mix the ranch seasoning with the yogurt. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 30 minutes prior to serving to bring out the full flavor of the dip.

Ingredient tip: If you’re making this dip during your puree stage, add in some tuna or chicken before blending to add both protein and flavor.
