Strawberry milk shake on your mind? Save yourself from consuming a day’s worth of calories in one drink by trying this version instead. The Greek yogurt gives this shake a creamy texture, just like the one from your local ice cream stand. Using frozen strawberries will keep the mixture extra thick, while fresh berries will make a thinner, more melted version.
1 cup low-fat milk or unsweetened soy milk
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
½ cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 scoop (¼ cup) vanilla or unflavored protein powder
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 In a blender, blend on high speed to combine the milk, strawberries, yogurt, protein powder, and vanilla for 2 to 3 minutes, until the shake is smooth and the protein powder is well dissolved.
2 Pour half the shake into a glass and enjoy.
3 Refrigerate any shake you don’t drink or use right away, and reblend prior to serving. Discard any remaining shake after 7 days.
